During this time, pregnancy exercise is the most important thing that you need to concentrate on. Most of the physicians recommend you to start the pregnancy-friendly exercise regimen for healthy development of you and your baby.
Walking, yoga [Pregnancy Yoga], and small weight training are the good ones for your heart and overall stamina during this physically challenging time. Regular exercise practice can greatly help you to increase the overall flexibility so that you will experience less tension and pain at the time of labor. Also, regular workout practice helps you to stay away from unnecessary weight gain.
You will notice slight increase in the discomfort due to heartburn because your uterus pushes up against the belly. With this, the movements of the food through digestive tract slows down and the nutrients reach the fetus more efficiently. So, try to have smaller meals instead of large meals as it greatly helps the patients with heartburn.
Avoid eating anything right before the bed time. Antacids that consist of calcium will give a great relief from heartburn. Consult your health care provider before going to take any medications for heartburn relief.
During this week, you may notice that your lower abdomen is somewhat achy because of the increased size and pulling on the round ligaments. This is usually called as round ligament pain and is very common during pregnancy week 19.

- By this week, your baby is around 10 inches in length and weighs about eight and half ounces.
- This week, your little one will begin on an appetizing diet of amniotic fluid. Now your child is capable to swallow, digest and pass the fluids through their tiny large intestines.
- The development of reproductive organs continues rapidly and the organs are organized to maintain future generations.
- The doctor will clearly observe the uterus in a baby girl and the testes are apparent in a baby boy. In the ultrasound scan, the penis is easily identifiable.
- By pregnancy week 19, your baby’s brain begins to form pockets to specialize in taste, smell, vision, hearing, and even touch.
- By this week, your little girl already produces over six million eggs in her ovaries, but the number is decreased up to 4 million at the time of the birth.
- There will be regular functioning of the baby’s kidneys and they continue to make urine.
- Also, the growth of the hair on your child’s scalp continues until the birth of your baby.

Most of the pregnant women think that sex during pregnancy is not safe and it will hurt the developing baby. But, this is completely wrong. Sex during any stage of pregnancy is safe, particularly if you don’t have any complications in your pregnancy. The desire for sex fluctuates in most of the pregnant women based on their fatigue, size, anxiousness towards the birth and various other things.
