Insufficient Amniotic Fluid Levels In Summer Months

According to the researchers at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), pregnant women have a higher incidence of amniotic fluid level deficiency, known as oligohydramnios, in summer months due to dehydration.

The main objective of the study was to find out whether summer season is the risk factor for amniotic fluid level deficiency, by comparing the frequency of amniotic fluid loss during the summer months versus its frequency during the rest of the year.Amniotic Fluid

Prof. Eyal Sheiner of the Faculty of Health and Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev explains, “it is important to drink appropriate amounts of water especially in summer months for pregnant women that is about ten glasses per day and avoid direct sun, not only for the health of mother, but also in order to avoid fetal dehydration”.
