Treatment options

If you notice the symptoms of excess amniotic fluid the good news is that in about half of all cases the problem resolves on its own. If this does not happen, the problem can be solved by your doctor by addressing the underlying cause. For instance the excess fluid can be caused by gestational diabetes, and in this case this is what the doctor has to treat first.
