In case you are looking for home remedies for preventing pregnancy you should know that women can get pregnant only for a few days per month.

If you know all about this fertile period, you will know what you have to do and what you shouldn’t do in order to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.

Calendar method

Although this one of the home remedies for avoiding pregnancy seems quite basic to you, you should know that all you have to do is to abstain from having intercourse during your fertile period. If you do have sex during the fertile period, you should make sure that you use some method of contraception.

BBT

In case of this one of the home remedies for preventing pregnancy you have to measure your body temperature each morning. After you ovulate you will be able to see a slight rise of temperature. You should avoid having sex until the third day of this rise of temperature. It is best to use it with the calendar method.

The combination

You should know about this one of the preventing pregnancy home remedies that it is more efficient than using the BBT or the calendar method alone. In this case the first day of the fertile period is calculated through the calendar method and the last day is calculated through the temperature method.

Cervical mucus

Another one of the home remedies for preventing pregnancy is to check the characteristics of the cervical mucus. A few days before ovulation the mucus quantity increases and it becomes slippery and thin. After ovulation the mucus gets thicker and stickier.

The big combination

The best thing that you can do regarding the home remedies to avoid pregnancy is to use the combination of all the above mentioned methods. The first day should be determined by the mucus method or the calendar method, whichever appears first and the last day should be marked by the temperature method.

Abstinence can be a good one of the home remedies for preventing pregnancy, but you have to make sure that you don’t miscalculate.
