Symptoms of Ectopic Pregnancy at 7 Weeks

An ectopic pregnancy (also referred to as eccysis) is a complication that occurs in pregnancy. The complication is actually the situation where the embryo implants outside the uterine cavity in the female’s body. Data suggests that most ectopic pregnancies occur in the fallopian tubes, while the implantation might occur in the cervix, the ovaries or the abdomen. It may not always be possible to detect the ectopic pregnancy early, but there are symptoms of ectopic pregnancy at 7 weeks i.e. the symptoms of ectopic pregnancy experienced by women who are 7 weeks pregnant.

An Ectopic pregnancy is very dangerous for the mother and may even put her in a life threatening condition. It may lead the mother to developed internal haemorrhage which is extremely dangerous . The symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy which are generally experienced when a woman is already 7 weeks pregnant are:

  • When a 7 weeks pregnant woman is experiencing light vaginal bleeding, it may be a sign pointing towards an ectopic pregnancy. The woman must get checked by the gynaecologist and take necessary steps.
  • Extreme vomiting and nausea may also be signs of ectopic pregnancy. Those women who are 7 weeks pregnant and experiencing constant vomiting/ nausea without any other viable cause must definitely go for a testing.
  • An ectopic pregnancy leads a woman to experience sharp abdominal cramps; the severity of the pain though may vary. But the pain is usually very, very intense and cutting/ sharp. Experiencing pain in the lower abdomen is also a sign associated with an ectopic pregnancy.
  • Dizziness and weakness are sometimes experienced as a side effect of pregnancy, but they are also considered as symptoms of ectopic pregnancy. Thus those women who are 7 weeks pregnant and experiencing constant dizziness/ weakness may have an ectopic pregnancy.
  • One of the most common places of implantation in ectopic pregnancy is the fallopian tubes. The pregnancy is undetected for long may cause the tube to rupture. The rupture results in pain and bleeding which can be severe enough to lead to fainting. It is another symptom of ectopic pregnancy.
  • Women with an ectopic pregnancy experience pain in a lot of body parts. For example they may experience pain in the neck, shoulder or the rectum. If the pain is persistent and does not go away it may point towards ectopic pregnancy.
