All speculations about Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and her pregnant status have been put to rest by an official press release by the royalty through the following statement:
Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news. The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum [morning sickness]. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.”
This will be William and Kate’s first child and Her Highness Queen Elizabeth’s third great grandchild. Very early into their married life William and Kate had expressed their desire to go the family way. The Duchess has kept up with the royal tradition of having a baby in the first couple of years of their marriage. Queen Elizabeth gave birth to Charles just before her first wedding anniversary and so did Princess Diana, who gave birth to William within 11 months of her marriage to Charles.
The royal heirs got married in April 2011. It was only after Kate’s admission to the hospital for treatment that the royal office went for an official announcement. Her stay at the King Edward Hospital was quite eventful with one of the receptionists falling prey to a phone call prank and then found dead. Despite all these Kate recovered quite well and has been reported to be discharged from the hospital on the 6th of December and has headed to Kensington Palace for rest; she has also cancelled all her royal obligations scheduled for the next few weeks. As she left the hospital with Prince William she had her evergreen smile on and carried a bunch of yellow roses as she walked away.
