In the first trimester women can have higher blood pressure because of the hormones and this leads to headaches. The grown baby puts a lot of pressure on the muscles that also results in headaches.

Backache

The other flu like signs in third trimester of pregnancy include leg cramps and backaches as well. The bad news is that the majority of the medications that are usually used by people in case of the flu are off limits for pregnant women. Gentle yoga, stretching and massage can make these symptoms better.

Nausea

This is a classic symptom for pregnancy, and it is also one of the flu symptoms in third trimester of pregnancy. The majority of women experience vomiting and nausea when being pregnant, but there are some severe cases when women aren’t able to keep anything down, not even water.

Some doctors suggest over the counter medications to make the flu like symptoms in third trimester of pregnancy better, while others recommend women to take more vitamins. It usually helps to have small and frequent meals and ginger has a lot of benefits as well in this case.

Fatigue

This is one of the flu symptoms in third trimester of pregnancy that appears in the first trimester as well. This is the feeling that makes women unable or unwilling to get out of bed or to get off the sofa for weeks. In the early stages this is caused by the fact that the body is adjusting to the new hormone levels.

At the beginning the heart has to work harder to pump the extra blood and this is why women get fatigued. In the third trimester the problem is caused by the fact that women have to carry around a lot of extra weight.
