getting organized for pregnancy

  • One of the first things that you will need to do to organize the house is to arrange the furniture in such a way that it will not prove to be a complication or obstruction during those nine months. For example, since you won’t be able to pick up furniture pieces to clean the surface, you must arrange them in such a way that they won’t need moving at all. Similarly, you can keep items within reach so that you won’t have to do extra efforts for them during pregnancy.
  • Another useful tip for home organization before pregnancy is to get all the painting and whitewashing work done beforehand. What happens is that during pregnancy, you must not inhale any fumes or harmful chemicals should be kept out of reach. Thus, you must get all the painting work before so as to avoid it during pregnancy.
  • You can decorate your house with plants and flowers for pregnancy. These will not only make a good sight but will also add to the charm of the house, which can be very pleasing and welcoming during those 9 months.
  • Keep all the sharp edged furniture and other items of the house away for those nine months. These furniture pieces or decorative items can hurt you during those nine months and may not prove to be very safe. Put them away for a while and take them out again after the baby is born.
  • If you have any slippery carpets, rugs or mats in the house, then make sure you replace them with steady ones which may not lead to any unsafe incidents or accidents. Also, cover slippery surfaces with steady mats.
  • Make sure you keep all the food items and other things like medicines etc. within reach of your bed so that in case of emergencies or bed rest, you are able to reach to them without anyone’s help. You can empty bed side drawers to store things like these for pregnancy.
  • Buy cushions and pillows in a sufficient number as you may need them a lot during pregnancy, especially while sleeping or lying down on the bed. Make sure you have atleast 4 cushions on your bed at all times.
